Job Title: Senior Staff Research Scientist, Quantum Error Correction, Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, CA, USA
Responsibilities:
- Lead research initiatives focused on developing new and improved quantum error correction methods.
- Establish research agendas for next-generation fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures.
- Develop quantum error-correcting codes with high encoding rates, high code distances, and hardware-efficient layouts.
- Design and analyze new constructions for non-Clifford logical gates;
- Explore advanced research topics including quantum LDPC codes and magic-state cultivation.
- Analyze fault-tolerant circuits for syndrome measurement and logical operations.
- Collaborate with internal and external research partners to advance quantum computing technologies.
- Publish research findings in leading scientific journals and conferences;
- Contribute to the broader quantum computing research community through technical presentations and collaborations.
Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent experience in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantum computing field.
- 10+ years of experience in quantum computing research.
- Strong publication record in quantum error correction;
- Demonstrated expertise in fault-tolerant quantum computing concepts.
- Ability to lead complex research programs and contribute strategic scientific direction.
Preferred:
- Experience working with quantum error correction experiments.
- Experience developing software for quantum error correction simulation and analysis.
- Research publications involving:
- Quantum LDPC Codes
- Fault-Tolerant Algorithm Compilation
- Non-Clifford Gate Circuits
- Quantum Error Correction Architectures
- Experience collaborating with academic and industrial research organizations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $262,000 - $365,000 USD per year
- Target Bonus: 25%
