Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer – Semiconductor Test. Location: Brooklyn Park, MN, USA

Quantinuum is looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer with expertise in semiconductor/MEMS optical and electrical test and inspection; You will work closely with the Ion Trap fabrication team to develop, mature, and scale inspection and test capabilities for ion traps, which are key to advancing quantum computing hardware.

Responsibilities:

• Develop automated analysis techniques and workflows to improve throughput and reduce inspection time, aligned with scaling requirements.
• Build automated test capabilities to identify electrically perfect die;
• Work with cross-functional teams to define requirements and defect limits for surface ion traps.
• Identify, evaluate, and integrate new tools and vendors to strengthen test and inspection capabilities.
• Assess capability gaps and create strategies to address them.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IC and/or MEMS test and inspection, with focus on automated inspection of large die and defect characterization.
• U.S. Person status (citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, or asylum/refugee status);
• Cannot be a national of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen (due to U.S. Government national security requirements).

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial/Test Engineering, or Physics.
• Hands-on experience with automated defect and optical inspection equipment.
• Ability to write or adapt code/software to improve inspection throughput;
• Experience working with capital equipment and service providers.
• Strong background in collaborative R&D environments.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $139,000 – $174,000 annually (includes bonus target).
