Job Title: SDE II - Fabrication Manufacturing Execution System, Center for Quantum Computing. Location: United States (Los Angeles County)

This role is for a Software Development Engineer II supporting the fabrication team at the AWS Center for Quantum Computing; The focus is on building data systems, applications, and infrastructure that help scientists and engineers scale quantum device development.

Responsibilities:

• Work with scientists and engineers to understand their needs and translate them into software design documents.
• Build and maintain software systems that support fabrication workflows, including ingestion pipelines and data syncing tools.
• Write clean, maintainable code and take ownership of system stability and long-term quality;
• Identify workflow issues and design improvements that help the fabrication team operate efficiently.
• Develop tools for fabrication planning, scheduling, timeline estimation, and retrospective analysis.
• Create charting frameworks that allow scientists to visualize and compare data from different sources.
• Design database schemas that model fabrication processes and artifacts;
• Support software infrastructure that helps scale fault-tolerant quantum computing technologies.
• Collaborate within a research-focused team and contribute new ideas.

Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of professional software development experience.
• 2 or more years of system design or architecture experience.
• Experience programming in at least one major language.

Preferred:

• 3 or more years of experience across the full software development life cycle.
• Experience using AWS services;
• Experience building or maintaining a Manufacturing Execution System.
• Experience working with scientists in research or fabrication settings.

Export Control:
