Job Description
Job Title: Industry Quantum Consultant. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, USA
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop quantum use cases in financial modeling and data-driven decision systems.
- Analyze limitations of classical financial models and explore quantum-enhanced alternatives.
- Guide clients through their quantum adoption journey, from awareness to implementation;
- Deliver technical and industry advisory services for financial institutions including banking and insurance.
- Collaborate with IBM researchers, scientists, and client stakeholders to design quantum prototypes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and establish quantum thought leadership in financial services.
- Support commercialization of quantum use cases in financial modeling and analytics;
- Contribute to hybrid quantum-classical solutions combining AI, HPC, and quantum computing.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Quantitative Finance (PhD preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in financial modeling or quantitative finance within banking, insurance, or consulting environments.
- Strong background in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, or data science applied to financial systems;
- Experience presenting complex technical topics to diverse audiences, including executives.
- Fundamental understanding of quantum mechanics and quantum algorithms.
Preferred:
- PhD in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Quantitative Finance.
- 10+ years of experience in financial modeling and decision systems;
- Strong exposure to quantitative finance challenges such as risk modeling, investment systems, or fraud detection.
- Experience working in consulting environments for financial services.

- Salary range: $200,000 to $290,000 per year.
