Materials Planner - Supply Chain

Job Description

Job Title: Staff Materials Planner – Supply Chain and Inventory. Location: College Park, Maryland, United States
Hybrid option available with a few remote days per week

This role acts as a central coordination point between manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted production, efficient material flow, and successful new product introductions; The position is based on-site at IonQ’s College Park, Maryland facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable planning frameworks and standard operating procedures to support a growing global supply chain
  • Lead planning integration for new site launches, acquisitions, and newly acquired companies;
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for ERP planning parameters, including safety stock, lead times, and time fences
  • Continuously audit and optimize MRP system settings to improve material planning accuracy
  • Execute system-level production planning to support engineering timelines and new product introduction builds
  • Maintain 95 percent or higher on-time material availability at top-level assembly
  • Identify material constraints across global operations and lead solutions such as alternate sourcing and load balancing
  • Create and manage daily and weekly build schedules aligned with engineering and production needs;
  • Communicate material status, shortages, and risks clearly to engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams
  • Prepare executive-level reports translating complex supply chain data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Partner with suppliers, sourcing, and procurement teams to improve delivery performance and expedite materials
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to meet technical requirements for new product introductions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 8 or more years of experience in materials planning, production control, or supply chain management
  • Strong experience in high-growth or complex manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience integrating new sites, acquisitions, or subsidiaries into centralized ERP or MRP systems
  • Expert understanding of MRP logic, master production scheduling, and inventory control;
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including advanced Excel and Power Query
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and executive audiences

Preferred:

  • Experience leading ERP implementations or major system upgrades
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
  • Familiarity with NetSuite Advanced Planning or Demand Planning modules
  • Experience building dashboards using Power BI or similar tools
  • Experience with Google Workspace;
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or PMP certification
  • Background in change management initiatives

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $108,438 to $141,407 per year
  • Total compensation includes base salary, performance bonus, and equity
  • Compensation varies based on location, experience, skills, and market conditions
