Job Description
Job Title: Senior Math Libraries Engineer – Dense Linear Algebra. Location: Santa Clara, CA or Remote (CA)
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable, high-performance dense linear algebra software for GPUs.
- Develop and maintain kernels for algorithms such as triangular factorizations, eigenvalue and singular value decompositions.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and interns involved in software development;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on technical requirements and product roadmaps.
- Enhance code quality and maintainability through architectural improvements and modern software practices.
Qualifications:
- MSc or PhD in Computational Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience with high-performance numerical software development in C++, parallel programming (CUDA, MPI, OpenMP, etc.).
- Strong background in computational linear algebra, including decomposition methods and solvers;
- Experience working with dense linear algebra libraries (e.g., BLAS, LAPACK, SCALAPACK);
- Strong communication skills and experience in collaborative, distributed team environments.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with GPU and/or CPU architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and agile project management tools like JIRA.
- Exposure to large-scale simulation technologies (e.g., PDE solvers, CFD, FEA);
- Background in quantum chemistry, AI, or scientific computing is a plus.

- Base salary range: $184,000–$356,500, with eligibility for equity and full benefits.
