Quantum Algorithm Researcher

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantum Algorithm Researcher. Location: United States, California (Remote)

You will work closely with product, engineering, and research teams, as well as external partners across the global quantum ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and establish technical collaborations with supercomputing centers on hybrid quantum classical applications across multiple industries
• Drive research and early exploration in AI methods for quantum algorithm discovery
• Own and execute high impact research projects in collaboration with strategic partners, including quantum hardware providers and leading researchers
• Align technical outcomes with NVIDIA’s product strategy, customer success, and long-term partnerships;
• Contribute to revenue growth through technical engagement and solution development that supports product adoption
• Publish high quality research and represent NVIDIA at scientific, technical, and industry conferences

Qualifications:

• PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience
• More than 9 years of experience working on quantum algorithms and applications
• Proven leadership in technical collaborations with industry and research partners
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and parallel computing models such as CUDA;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong research record demonstrated through publications and conference presentations

Preferred:

• Recognized thought leadership at the intersection of quantum computing and high-performance computing
• Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Quantum platforms such as cuQuantum or CUDA-Q

• Competitive base salary based on location, level, and experience
  • Level 4: USD 184,000 to USD 299,000
  • Level 5: USD 224,000 to USD 356,500
