Radio Frequency Hardware Test Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Radio Frequency Hardware Test Engineer, Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, CA, USA

You will work closely with hardware engineers to understand system architectures and design test strategies; Your role will include developing test fixtures, designing electronic systems, and collaborating with manufacturing partners to establish testing and calibration processes; You will also document results and communicate findings to the broader team.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop custom electronic hardware for testing high-performance quantum control systems that include analog, digital, and RF subsystems.
• Create detailed test plans for internal validation of analog, mixed-signal, and RF components and lead their execution.
• Build and maintain automated testing platforms, including custom RF/analog test interfaces as needed;
• Conduct hardware bench verification and report performance, compliance, and reliability metrics to the quantum team.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers to establish procedures for testing and calibration of control systems.
• Produce thorough technical documentation, presentations, and datasheets for test outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in PCB bring-up, hardware testing, and validation from planning to execution.
• 5+ years of experience with lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers (e.g., Keysight).
• Strong background in electronic design and test.

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience overseeing test and manufacturing activities with third-party partners.
• Leadership experience in electronic test activities, individually or within a team;
• Deep expertise in analog, RF, and mixed-signal characterization techniques, including on-wafer measurements.
• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

• US base salary range: $147,000 to $216,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
