Job Description
Job Title: Research Scientist, System Optimization and Stability, Quantum. Location: Goleta, CA, USA
As a Research Scientist, you will work at the intersection of quantum computing, software, and machine learning; You will set up large-scale tests, deploy new ideas, and contribute to the global research community through papers and collaborations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy, and maintain software for calibrating, controlling, and stabilizing multi-qubit systems.
- Improve and maintain the software codebase for broader use, particularly in Python.
- Design, implement, and validate software for benchmarking, analyzing, and debugging multi-qubit systems.
- Publish and present research findings internally and externally, contributing to the wider scientific community.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams of scientists and engineers to advance quantum processor stability and performance.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of research experience in quantum information science or technology.
- Experience developing software for data analysis, modeling, or machine learning.
- At least one submission to conferences, journals, or public repositories.
Preferred:
- Experience developing Python software in collaborative environments.
- Hands-on experience with quantum gates and readout in superconducting qubit experiments.
- Background in developing, deploying, and validating machine learning routines.
- Experience in modeling, control optimization, and benchmarking of multi-qubit systems.
