Job Description

Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer. Location: New Haven, CT, USA

Job Type: Full-Time, Senior Level, On-site / Hybrid (Infrastructure role with on-prem and cloud systems)

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Develop hybrid infrastructure spanning bare metal systems, AWS, and virtualized platforms.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment and release processes.
• Manage AWS infrastructure including multi-account environments, IAM, networking, and shared services.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform and Ansible;
• Design and operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop observability systems including logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting.
• Improve system reliability through monitoring, automation, and incident response processes.
• Support hardware-integrated systems including OS deployment and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency across hybrid infrastructure;
• Participate in incident response and perform root-cause analysis to improve system stability.
• Automate manual infrastructure processes to increase efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes architecture including cluster design, networking, scaling, and production operations.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and multi-account setups.
• Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions);
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications in production.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, and firewalling.

Preferred:

• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Zabbix.
• Strong ability to operate distributed systems end-to-end.
• Experience working with hardware-integrated systems or hybrid quantum-classical environments.
• Background in high-reliability production infrastructure.
