Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer. Location: New Haven, CT, USA
Job Type: Full-Time, Senior Level, On-site / Hybrid (Infrastructure role with on-prem and cloud systems)
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Develop hybrid infrastructure spanning bare metal systems, AWS, and virtualized platforms.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment and release processes.
- Manage AWS infrastructure including multi-account environments, IAM, networking, and shared services.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform and Ansible;
- Design and operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop observability systems including logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting.
- Improve system reliability through monitoring, automation, and incident response processes.
- Support hardware-integrated systems including OS deployment and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency across hybrid infrastructure;
- Participate in incident response and perform root-cause analysis to improve system stability.
- Automate manual infrastructure processes to increase efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes architecture including cluster design, networking, scaling, and production operations.
- Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and multi-account setups.
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions);
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications in production.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, and firewalling.
Preferred:
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Zabbix.
- Strong ability to operate distributed systems end-to-end.
- Experience working with hardware-integrated systems or hybrid quantum-classical environments.
- Background in high-reliability production infrastructure.
