Job Title: Senior Technical Project Manager (Quantum Systems). Location: Broomfield, CO, USA
We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to oversee the development of next-generation quantum systems; The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong project management skills to lead complex R&D programs, coordinate across engineering teams, & ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and work plans for complex R&D and engineering programs.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to coordinate work across multiple groups and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Lead project reviews and status meetings to monitor progress, resolve challenges, and manage risks;
- Maintain clear communication between technical teams, leadership, partners, and product management.
- Manage execution of the annual plan, coordinating with asset management, materials, and finance departments.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to accelerate schedules or develop new technologies.
- Draft statements of work and coordinate new project evaluations.
- Lead meetings for major technical decisions, trade-offs, and retrospectives;
- Improve project management processes for planning, budgeting, risk tracking, and continuous improvement.
- Drive execution of complex development programs to meet technology and product roadmap goals while maintaining sustainable workflow practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical program management for research or hardware development.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or individual granted asylum or refugee status);
- Cannot be a national of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen (per national security requirements).
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Experience delivering first-of-a-kind R&D or engineering projects.
- Strong project management experience in R&D settings using agile, lean, waterfall, or Kanban methodologies.
- Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft 365, Smartsheets, and MS Project.
- Experience working with micro-device or quantum computing technologies;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage remote and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $109,000–$136,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).
