Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer. Location: Palo Alto, California, United States.

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you’ll join the OS/Platform team to keep monitoring systems reliable, scalable, and insightful; You'll manage and improve observability tools, automate processes, and lead incident response across both cloud (AWS) and on-prem infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Define and manage Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Build and maintain Grafana dashboards focused on latency, errors, traffic, and saturation.
• Manage observability stack using Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo.
• Lead incident response efforts and post-incident reviews;
• Develop automation tools using Python and Bash.
• Collaborate with Platform and Product teams on performance and capacity planning.
• Maintain CI/CD processes, especially within GitLab;
• Support Infrastructure as Code deployments using Terraform and Ansible.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or production engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo;
• Skilled in dashboard creation using RED and USE methodologies.
• Strong scripting in Python and Bash;
• Familiar with Kubernetes, AWS, networking, and load balancing.
• Experienced in incident handling and writing post-mortems.
• Knowledge of infrastructure tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Bonus: Experience in regulated environments and multi-region setups.
