Systems Engineer (Systems Definition)

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer (Systems Definition). Location: United States

Responsibilities:

  • Translate high-level system concepts and operational goals into clear, measurable, and verifiable engineering requirements.
  • Decompose system requirements and allocate them across hardware, firmware, and software subsystems.
  • Define and implement processes for documenting, tracking, and managing engineering requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Establish best practices for documenting, maintaining, and managing system architecture and configuration.
  • Identify and implement tools that improve engineering documentation and company processes;
  • Develop standardized methods for documenting interfaces between system components.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Coach and train engineering teams on systems engineering methodologies, documentation standards, and engineering tools.
  • Support the development of scalable engineering processes for advanced quantum computing systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, including Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering;
  • Proven experience documenting requirements, system architectures, and interfaces for complex hardware, firmware, and software systems.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard systems engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with quantum computing systems.
  • Experience using modern requirements management software.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced research and development environment.
  • Ability to adapt engineering processes and methodologies to evolving business needs.
