Job Description

Job Title: Assembly Integration and Test Technician III. Location: New Haven, Connecticut, United States

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and install test chips, taking them from wafer to functioning processor.
• Conduct electrical testing on wafers and chips using custom-built and industry-standard equipment.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and maintain processes for effective preparation and installation of test chips.
• Handle liquid cryogens (helium and nitrogen) and compressed gases safely and efficiently.
• Screen parts for magnetic contamination at cryogenic temperatures;
• Maintain dilution refrigerators and other cryogenic test systems.
• Provide general lab maintenance and support to ensure smooth operations.
• Learn and expand technical skills on the job through exposure to various aspects of quantum processor R&D.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of practical experience and applied technical knowledge in an engineering, physics, or industrial lab.
• Experience operating instrumentation and lab equipment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and quick adaptability to new procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, cross-disciplinary team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic programming and computer skills.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.

Preferred:

• Formal education in a relevant field (degree or technical diploma) is valued but not required.
