Job Description
Job Title: Assembly Integration and Test Technician III. Location: New Haven, Connecticut, United States
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and install test chips, taking them from wafer to functioning processor.
- Conduct electrical testing on wafers and chips using custom-built and industry-standard equipment.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and maintain processes for effective preparation and installation of test chips.
- Handle liquid cryogens (helium and nitrogen) and compressed gases safely and efficiently.
- Screen parts for magnetic contamination at cryogenic temperatures;
- Maintain dilution refrigerators and other cryogenic test systems.
- Provide general lab maintenance and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Learn and expand technical skills on the job through exposure to various aspects of quantum processor R&D.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of practical experience and applied technical knowledge in an engineering, physics, or industrial lab.
- Experience operating instrumentation and lab equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and quick adaptability to new procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, cross-disciplinary team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic programming and computer skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
Preferred:
- Formal education in a relevant field (degree or technical diploma) is valued but not required.
