Director – Producibility and Manufacturing

Job Description

Job Title: Director – Hardware Producibility and Manufacturing COE. Location: Broomfield, CO, USA / Hybrid (with some remote work flexibility)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and component engineering teams.
  • Design and implement best practices for documenting and managing system design packages.
  • Oversee design quality control, ensuring complete and compliant configurations for procurement and export.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, IT, and finance to align enterprise tools (e.g., PLM, SAP);
  • Manage configuration control, document release, and change management processes;
  • Strategize and execute outsourced and in-house manufacturing plans;
  • Drive year-over-year cost reduction and improve cycle times;
  • Lead packaging, shipping, and delivery of complex electro-optical and mechanical systems.
  • Own staffing, budgeting, resource management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor managers, conduct performance reviews, and manage succession planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in hardware or mechanical systems development
  • Minimum 2+ years managing technical personnel;
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, green card holder, or approved asylum/refugee status);
  • Cannot be solely a citizen of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen

Preferred:

  • Background in quantum hardware, AMO physics, or quantum sensing
  • Experience managing engineering managers;
  • Strong expertise in mechanical system design and analysis;
  • Strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and resource management
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $224,000 - $280,000 (inclusive of performance incentives)
