Job Title: Senior Research Scientist, Silicon Qubits. Job Location: Los Angeles, USA
This role is ideal for professionals who want to shape the future of quantum computing by combining deep physics knowledge, experimental skills, and software engineering expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cryogenic measurements and characterization of quantum dot-based qubits.
- Design, implement, and test new control protocols for tuning and optimizing single and two-qubit gates;
- Develop scalable optimization protocols for cross-talk mitigation, leakage reduction, and real-time retuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in research, product, and engineering to translate insights into production-ready software.
- Document, present, and explain research outcomes in a clear and accessible manner.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant research experience.
- Strong background in quantum dot characterization and tune-up methods;
- Expertise in numerical modeling, statistical learning, and optimization algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust, with experience developing control software for qubit measurement and calibration.
- Familiarity with quantum error correction concepts and control theory.
Compensation:
- Base salary range: $140,000 – $192,000 USD (based on skills, experience, and location).
