Engineering Program Management

Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Program Management Lead. Location: Malta, NY, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and management of detailed schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and work plans for technical deliverables across complex hardware R&D programs.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple technical and operational teams.
  • Lead regular status meetings, project reviews, and end-of-task retrospectives.
  • Communicate strategy, scope changes, risks, and progress effectively between technical teams, partners, product and program management, and leadership.
  • Prepare and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate program status;
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate schedules and develop technologies needed to achieve program objectives.
  • Manage program risks and opportunities throughout the planning and execution lifecycle.
  • Adapt program tactics and strategies to support diverse, early-stage, and highly technical projects.
  • Promote collaboration and a strong teamwork mentality across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactively identify potential challenges and develop solutions to prevent obstacles from affecting program goals.
  • Travel up to 25% as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • At least 8 years of experience in technical program management.
  • Experience managing schedules, risks, budgets, resources, and technical deliverables.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities;
  • Experience working in highly collaborative, technical environments.
  • Ability to work with diverse technical and operational teams.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively.
  • Due to contractual requirements, candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or worker granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Due to U.S. Government national security requirements, candidates must not be a national of the People's Republic of China or Russia unless they are also a U.S. citizen.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Background in quantum computing, optics and photonics, or experimental physics.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience in product development.
  • Experience taking technology-based projects through the full lifecycle, including schedule, risk, and budget management.
  • Experience working on first-of-its-kind or early-stage technology products and projects.
  • Strong understanding of risk and opportunity analysis and management processes related to program planning.
  • Experience establishing organizational and time-management guidelines for others.

  • This is a full-time Quantinuum position working on a supplier site in Malta, New York.
