Lead Solutions Architect

Job Description

Job Title: Lead Solutions Architect – Quantum Memories. Location: Boston, MA, USA

Job Type: Full-Time (Onsite with partial remote flexibility)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop go-to-market assets that communicate the capabilities of IonQ’s integrated quantum systems across computing, networking, sensing, and security.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to support customer engagement and move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Work cross-functionally with technical teams to understand and communicate the value of IonQ’s quantum hardware stack.
  • Lead discussions with customers to explore use cases and assess technology fit;
  • Align customer needs with internal technical and program management teams.
  • Provide strategic feedback based on customer insights to guide future product and technology roadmap development.
  • Support technical sales efforts in a non-commission role.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PhD in physical sciences or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental quantum physics concepts.
  • At least 2+ years of industry experience, including 1+ year in an external-facing role;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in project and stakeholder management across internal and external teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in management consulting, venture capital, technical sales, or similar roles.
  • Experience working across functions such as R&D, sales, marketing, and pricing.
  • Ability to develop financial models and analyses to support customer and internal projects.
  • Background in quantum information science and technology;
  • Ability to identify market gaps and communicate opportunities to leadership.
  • Experience synthesizing customer feedback to guide product and technology development.

  • Base salary range: $123,191 – $161,289, with additional bonus and equity.

Other Information:

  • Work arrangement includes onsite presence in Boston with flexibility for remote work a few days per week.
