Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Signal Train Engineer Internship. Location: Pasadena, CA, USA
Responsibilities:
- Design cryogenic and room-temperature printed circuit board (PCB) hardware used for signal conditioning and control functions in quantum computing systems.
- Develop and execute validation tests using benchtop and cryogenic test setups with quantum devices.
- Support the development of control and readout systems for Amazon quantum processors;
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers across cross-functional teams to develop scalable and cost-effective quantum hardware solutions.
- Explore enabling control technologies required for commercially viable quantum computers.
- Contribute to innovation and hardware system optimization within Amazon’s quantum computing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and commit to a maximum 12-week internship.
- Ability to relocate to the internship location.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Technology, Science, Operations Research, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Hands-on laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal analyzers, and soldering equipment;
- Working knowledge of at least one computer-aided engineering (CAE) circuit or mechanical design tool.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred:
- Experience designing experiments and performing statistical analysis of results.
- Publications in peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuit blocks including op-amps, biasing circuits, filtering, low-speed data converters, and microprocessors.
- Previous experience with VHDL.
- Familiarity with RF and microwave circuit theory, including transmission lines and impedance matching.

- Annual salary range: $136,000–$184,000 USD.
