Job Title: Rigetti 2026 Internship Opportunities. Location: Berkeley, CA or Fremont, CA. Department: Business Operations – HR and Talent

Interns gain hands-on experience across hardware, software, and systems research, contributing to real projects that push the boundaries of quantum technology; This posting serves as an expression of interest for Rigetti’s 2026 program, allowing early applicants to stay connected as new opportunities open.

Potential Internship Areas:

• Quantum Hardware Engineering
• Cryogenic and Control Systems Engineering
• Quantum Algorithms and Benchmarking
• Quantum Software and Developer Tools
• Error Detection and Gate Optimization
• Information Technology
• Administration and Operations

Responsibilities:

• Work on assigned quantum hardware, software, or systems projects under the guidance of Rigetti mentors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design, test, and optimize components of Rigetti’s quantum systems.
• Participate in research meetings, documentation, and presentations of findings;
• Contribute to advancing quantum technologies through experimentation and analysis.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest or coursework in quantum information science or advanced computing systems.
• Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages;
• Hands-on laboratory or experimental experience.
• Strong communication, curiosity, and teamwork skills;
• Legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay range: $35–$50 per hour, depending on academic level.
  • Undergraduate: $35/hour
  • Master’s: $45/hour
  • Ph.D./Graduate: $50/hour
• Housing stipend up to $2,000 for candidates who relocate for the summer;
• Opportunity to attend a December 2025 Info Session and apply directly for specific projects when postings open in February 2026.
