Senior Support Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Support Engineer. Location: Onsite – Palo Alto, California (USA). Citizenship: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and capable of obtaining federal security clearance. Sponsorship: Not available. Local Candidates Only: Must reside in the Bay Area

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) systems and related tools
• Perform regular and preventive maintenance on deposition and metrology equipment
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for day-to-day lab operations;
• Monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure lab uptime;
• Manage data sets from film deposition runs and conduct performance analysis;
• Coordinate logistics such as shipping, receiving, and vendor communication
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols and cleanroom standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Associate’s degree with 7+ years in a similar hands-on lab role
• Strong mechanical skills and experience with basic lab instrumentation
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel);
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and highly organized
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Tango PVD systems (hardware/software)
• Understanding of vacuum systems and thin film processes
• Cleanroom protocol experience;
• Use of metrology tools for film analysis;
• CPR Certification
