Software Development Engineer Internship

Job Description

Job Title: Software Development Engineer Internship - Summer 2026 (US). Location: Seattle, Washington, USA

Responsibilities:

• Work with senior engineers to design, build, and operate software products and services.
• Develop scalable systems using cloud tools, microservices, and distributed computing.
• Take part in technical discussions and design decisions.
• Write clean and maintainable code that follows standard best practices.
• Join code reviews and help improve technical documentation.
• Build and support distributed systems that are reliable and cost-effective.
• Use and help improve AI and GenAI development tools.
• Work in an agile environment using continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Help monitor systems, fix issues, and improve performance in production.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 or older.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Enrolled in a degree program in computer science, computer engineering, data science, information systems, or a related STEM field.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks.
• Graduation expected between October 2026 and September 2029.

Preferred:

• Experience from a past technical internship or strong project work.
• Experience with AI development tools, AWS, SQL or NoSQL databases, open-source contributions, version control, and debugging.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly;
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Base pay ranges from 47.84 dollars per hour to 96.15 dollars per hour depending on location and experience.
