Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer III, Quantum. Location: Goleta, CA, Seattle, WA

As a Software Engineer III, Quantum, you will contribute to core software systems that support this mission; You will work on high-impact projects, collaborate across research and hardware teams, and help advance the future of quantum computing.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software solutions for quantum computing systems.
  • Take ownership of project goals, roadmaps, deadlines, and deliverables for both short-term and long-term initiatives.
  • Solve complex and ambiguous problems by proposing and implementing scalable software solutions;
  • Write, review, and optimize code to ensure performance, reliability, and best engineering practices.
  • Improve existing systems or build new ones based on technical feedback and system requirements.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and shared learning resources.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, electronics engineers, and research scientists.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience developing accessible and inclusive technologies.

Compensation:

  • Base salary range: USD 141,000 to USD 202,000 per year
  • Additional compensation may include bonus, equity, and benefits
  • Final salary depends on location, experience, and role level
