Job Description
Job Title: Solutions Architect - Financial Services (Principal or Director Level). Location: US Remote
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical leader for assigned strategic financial services accounts, working with Strategic Account Executives on account planning, technical discovery, and solution development.
- Help customers identify high-value applications for quantum computing in financial services workflows and optimization challenges.
- Apply expertise in portfolio optimization, asset allocation, derivatives pricing, quantitative finance, treasury, liquidity, capital optimization, and fraud detection.
- Evaluate financial services challenges that may be suitable for near-term quantum computing approaches.
- Work with customers and internal research teams to define project scopes aligned with technical capabilities, research strengths, and technology roadmaps.
- Maintain a catalogue of industry-relevant quantum computing use cases;
- Support the creation of customer-facing technical materials and proposals.
- Provide market and customer feedback to research leaders to help align research roadmaps with industry needs.
- Stay current with developments in quantum technology, quantum algorithms, financial services, and relevant industry trends.
- Develop expertise in quantum algorithm capabilities, use cases, technical limitations, and technology roadmaps.
- Translate business objectives into practical technical solutions and project plans.
- Manage relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Partner with sales leaders while maintaining independent technical judgment.
- Manage multiple priorities and stakeholders across strategic customer engagements;
- At the Director level, lead and develop the Solutions Architecture team, including coaching, performance management, and resource allocation.
- At the Director level, establish technical best practices and oversee technical quality, portfolio visibility, and prioritization across the broader Solutions Architecture function.
- At the Director level, continue contributing directly to strategic customer engagements while defining the operating model for the function.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in mathematics, quantitative finance, computer science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience working in quantitative, computational, or advanced analytics programs within the financial services sector.
- Deep experience with optimization, mathematical modeling, solvers, quantitative methods, and computational problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of financial services applications and workflows;
- Strong ability to translate business objectives into technical execution.
- Strong stakeholder management and organizational skills.
- Executive-level communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority.
- For Director-level candidates, experience leading technical teams or managing direct reports in a customer-facing or applied research environment.
Preferred:
- PhD in mathematics, physics, quantitative finance, computer science, or a related STEM field.
- Experience working with or exposure to quantum technologies.
- Significant experience managing customer relationships and delivering technically complex projects.
- Experience working with strategic customers and cross-functional teams;
- Experience developing technical solutions and proposals for enterprise customers.
- Experience leading technical teams and establishing organizational best practices for Director-level positions.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Annual compensation range of $180,000 to $250,000.
- Compensation range includes the bonus target when applicable.
