Job Description
Job Title: Staff Accountant. Location: College Park, Maryland, USA
Job Type: Full-Time (Hybrid / On-site with remote flexibility)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including payroll accruals for US and international entities
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts including Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, and Accruals
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to estimate and record unbilled expenses
- Record RSU and stock-based compensation data in collaboration with Payroll and Equity teams
Cash Management and Reconciliations
- Perform daily cash monitoring and transaction categorization in ERP systems (NetSuite)
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation
Audit and Compliance Support
- Support external auditors during year-end audits by preparing required documentation and schedules
- Maintain internal documentation of accounting processes
- Support internal control compliance and financial accuracy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1 to 3 years of professional accounting experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills;
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
Preferred:
- Experience with Big Four or national accounting firms
- Familiarity with NetSuite ERP
- Exposure to Dayforce or Papaya systems;
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting processes
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and improve financial workflows
- Strong problem-solving mindset
