Job Title: Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Amazon Research Initiatives. Location: Santa Clara, CA, USA; Santa Barbara, CA, USA; Seattle, WA, USA; Arlington, VA, USA; New York, NY, USA
Responsibilities:
Events Strategy & Management
- Own the end-to-end planning and execution of internal and external science events and showcases.
- Develop event strategies that improve business impact through playbooks, measurement, feedback loops, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure operational excellence through project management, risk mitigation, quality control, and contingency planning.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-organizational events teams;
- Develop and manage event budgets while demonstrating fiscal responsibility and optimizing return on investment.
- Manage relationships with external vendors.
- Define audience segments and create tailored engagement strategies for researchers, engineers, business leaders, and external partners.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop domain expertise and community connections to support speaker selection, content amplification, and reputational opportunities.
- Organize cross-company initiatives that improve collaboration and amplify Amazon's scientific work internally and externally.
- Help communicate and activate scientific breakthroughs across Amazon's broader ecosystem;
- Support efforts that strengthen Amazon's reputation as a destination for world-class research.
Operational Excellence
- Establish project management best practices that can scale team performance and excellence.
- Monitor the science marketing and events landscape to identify opportunities and risks relevant to Amazon's scientific communities.
- Use data and metrics to evaluate marketing and event performance and drive improvements.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional marketing experience, excluding internships.
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
- Experience with Excel or Tableau, including data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables.
- Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional marketing programs;
- Experience leading go-to-market activities for consumer software or hardware product launches.
- Experience managing events or meetings within a global organization.
- Strong project management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Experience using SQL or other analytical tools for data analysis.
- Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting.
- Experience working with technical, scientific, or research communities.
- Ability to engage effectively with researchers, engineers, business leaders, and external partners.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Santa Clara, CA: $157,100 to $212,600 annually.
- Santa Barbara, CA: $142,800 to $193,200 annually.
- New York, NY: $157,100 to $212,600 annually.
- Arlington, VA: $142,800 to $193,200 annually.
- Seattle, WA: $142,800 to $193,200 annually;
- Compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
- Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
