Strategic Sourcing Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Staff Strategic Sourcing Manager. Location: College Park, MD or Bothell, WA (Hybrid/Remote Option)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies aligned with IonQ’s technical roadmap for key commodity groups, particularly in lasers and optics.
• Evaluate, select, and manage supplier relationships; drive business reviews and mitigate risks across the supply chain.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance supplier performance and reduce cost of ownership;
• Negotiate supplier contracts in collaboration with the legal department and ensure compliance with legal, technical, and quality standards.
• Define and implement metrics (TQRDC) to track supplier performance and drive improvements;
• Report regularly to executive leadership on supplier risk, strategy, and performance;
• Consolidate global supply forecasts and technical requirements across teams into coordinated supplier engagement strategies.

Qualifications:

• 7–10 years of experience in supply chain management or strategic sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of laser and optics technologies;
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, physics, or another technical field;
• Proven experience in supplier negotiation, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration;
• Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), MRP concepts, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with executive stakeholders.

Preferred:

• CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Experience with semiconductor, optics, and photonics components;
• Background in defense contracting (FAR/DFARs) or ISO9001 environments;
• Experience scaling business processes and supporting legal/security compliance.

• Salary Range: $143,410 – $187,011 (varies by experience and location)
