Data Software Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Data Software Engineer. Location: Palo Alto, California, United States

As a Data Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and maintaining PsiQuantum’s data infrastructure; You will help manage data systems, build integration tools, & enhance reporting capabilities to support the company’s mission to deliver scalable quantum computing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and extend database models, front-end frameworks, and REST APIs for data system integration and performance.
• Build and maintain efficient data pipelines to process large data streams from multiple sources.
• Support and troubleshoot existing data systems and reporting tools;
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best development practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy new features.
• Conduct code reviews, root cause analysis, and unit testing;
• Assist other engineers with data queries, algorithm development, and debugging.
• Ensure data reliability, performance, and accuracy for analytics and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering or data-intensive applications.
• Strong command of Python and SQL;
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL, and database design principles;
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Python Dash, or JMP).
• Proficiency in web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS;
• Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Preferred: experience in semiconductor testing or data-driven applications in semiconductor industries.
• Familiarity with scientific computing tools such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, or Jupyter.

• Competitive base pay:
  • U.S. Range: $115,000 - $130,000
  • Bay Area Range: $135,000 - $160,000
