Director Business Development

Job Description

Job Title: Director of Business Development. Location: Remote (United States)

As Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for building and scaling the top of the sales funnel globally; You’ll lead a team focused on inbound and outbound prospecting and pipeline development for Account Executives; You’ll report directly to the VP of Go-To-Market Operations and collaborate with regional sales leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a global business development team to identify and qualify new prospects.
  • Develop and execute strategies for lead generation and early-stage sales engagement.
  • Work closely with Account Executives and regional sales teams to build a strong sales pipeline.
  • Present business development insights at marketing and sales reviews;
  • Use data to drive performance improvements and strategic decisions.
  • Build and maintain a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top business development talent;
  • Coach and mentor team members in real-time to improve performance.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience managing business development or sales prospecting teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing people and teams.
  • Experience working in complex technology environments, preferably enterprise software or quantum tech.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated success in top-of-funnel sales strategy and execution.
  • Strong analytical mindset with operational efficiency;
  • Able to work in fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
  • A collaborative leader with high emotional intelligence.
