Hardware Developer (PDK)

Job Description

Job Title: Hardware Developer (PDK). Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, United States

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver quantum processor and testsite layouts as part of the quantum hardware design and simulation team.
  • Collaborate closely with fabrication and integration teams to develop and maintain process design kits (PDKs).
  • Work on a spectrum of design projects ranging from research-driven innovations to roadmap-level production processors;
  • Utilize industry-standard tools for chip design, simulation, and physical verification such as Keysight ADS, Ansys, Cadence Virtuoso, Siemens Calibre, and Synopsys IC Validator;
  • Contribute to the development of robust methodologies for chip design and release.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • Experience with chip design, layout, and simulation;
  • Familiarity with microwave engineering and PDK development
  • Proficiency in Python, Linux;
  • Knowledge of hardware development tools and standards

Preferred:

  • Experience with CMOS-grade physical verification and layout tools
  • Familiarity with 3DEM simulation and Tcl scripting;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across interdisciplinary teams
