Logic Design Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Entry-Level Logic Design Engineer. Location: Rochester, Minnesota, United States

You’ll work from early design through post-silicon validation, collaborating across teams to deliver innovative solutions in logic and processor architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Feature Development: Design and propose high-level logic architectures for new features.
  • Effort Estimation: Estimate time and resources needed for design tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with verification, physical design, test generation, and milli code teams to implement and integrate features.
  • Pre-Silicon Sign-Off: Complete and approve logic designs before fabrication;
  • Post-Silicon Validation: Test and confirm functionality of hardware systems after manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Logic Design: Strong foundation in digital logic and system design.
  • VHDL/Verilog Experience: Familiarity with hardware description languages and VLSI techniques.
  • Processor Architecture: Understanding of RISC and CISC architecture design;
  • Simulation Skills: Experience developing and running simulation models.
  • Verification: Ability to carry designs through test plan reviews and verification coverage analysis.

Preferred:

  • Experience in designing low-power, efficient logic systems.
  • Understanding of physical design and timing constraints.
  • Python scripting skills for design automation;
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA tools and systems.
