Job Title: Senior Facilities Technician II
We are seeking a Senior Facilities Technician II to join our Boston, MA facility. This role requires on-site presence 5 days a week and occasional travel (up to 10%).
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other building systems.
- Conduct repairs directly or coordinate with external contractors.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules for all facility systems.
- Monitor and operate building systems to ensure proper function.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain records for inspections, repairs, and audits.
- Handle general upkeep tasks such as cosmetic repairs, painting, and flooring.
- Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities, including coordinating hazardous material removal.
- Assist with physical security projects and warehouse operations.
- Support equipment movement and setup;
- Maintain and order inventory, consumables, and replacement parts.
- Monitor calibration programs and coordinate equipment calibration.
- Collaborate with vendors for specialized projects and maintenance.
- Respond to employee facility requests and maintain service-oriented support.
- Coordinate with stakeholders during planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Document assembly best practices and share with technical teams;
- Develop and follow SOPs for emergencies such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures.
- Provide on-call support after hours and on weekends for facility emergencies.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent with 3+ years of hands-on experience in a high-tech environment (electronics, optics lab, data center, or manufacturing).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Skilled in hand tools, small repairs, and facility/lab maintenance;
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and operating procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication and teamwork skills;
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and MS Office.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and CAD software is preferred.
- Previous experience in R&D laboratory spaces is a plus.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary: $66,462 – $80,253 plus bonus and equity.
