Production Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Production Technician. Location: Palo Alto, California, United States. Pay Range (Bay Area Only): $27 to $34 USD per hour

The Production Technician will work on a manufacturing line, assemble components based on engineering instructions, operate equipment, and support cryogenic and room-temperature test systems; Training will be provided for specialized systems and cleanroom operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble parts and components according to engineering specifications
  • Support manufacturing line activities and sub-assembly integration
  • Perform repair, alignment, calibration, and testing tasks
  • Install sub-assemblies into cryostats;
  • Cleave and splice fiber optic cables
  • Use hand tools and precision instruments to assemble equipment
  • Perform material inventory checks as required
  • Update the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for completed work
  • Create and submit daily shift reports and pass-down notes;
  • Communicate with managers, operations teams, and engineers when support is needed
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Support lab, cleanroom operations, and maintenance activities
  • Work overtime or weekends when required
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in semiconductor, optical, or R&D test environments
  • Experience operating manufacturing or lab tooling
  • Ability to inspect own work and perform quality checks;
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
  • Strong manual dexterity for working with small components
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle materials safely
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Willingness to perform a wide range of tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing floor, lab, and cleanroom settings
  • Hands-on assembly and testing of quantum hardware systems;
  • Collaborative startup environment focused on innovation and results
