Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Algorithms Numerics Specialist, Quantum AI. Location: San Francisco, CA, USA
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine numerical simulation methods to study quantum systems and algorithm performance.
- Identify and scope quantum computing problem classes that offer computational advantage.
- Collaborate with researchers to translate theoretical quantum concepts into practical simulations;
- Design and implement classical preprocessing strategies for optimizing quantum circuits, including Trotter analysis and constraint satisfaction formulations.
- Contribute to the management and improvement of internal codebases supporting quantum simulation efforts;
- Publish research findings and collaborate with academic and technical partners.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, or a related field with focus on quantum computing, numerical simulations, or computational physics.
- Proficiency in high-performance computing languages (Python, C, C++, Fortran) and frameworks (OpenMP, MPI);
- Experience with numerical methods such as eigenvalue estimation or optimization.
- Published research in quantum system simulations.
Preferred:
- Experience in quantum compilation and circuit optimization.
- Familiarity with GPUs or TPUs for accelerating simulations;
- Expertise in electronic structure, condensed matter, or multiscale modeling.
- Knowledge of fault-tolerant quantum algorithms and logical qubits.
Benefits and Information:
- Base salary range: $166,000–$244,000 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
