Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Architect. Locations: Brisbane, Australia | Palo Alto, California, USA | Remote (AUS and U.S. considered)
We are seeking a Quantum Architect with expertise in fault-tolerant quantum computing; You will design and develop fault-tolerance methods, simulate decoding protocols, and model error behavior in linear optical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design new fault-tolerance techniques using linear optical primitives
- Develop and simulate quantum error decoders;
- Model error origins and propagation paths
- Benchmark quantum protocols and assess performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Math, or Computer Science (required)
- PhD in a related field with a focus on quantum computation or quantum information (preferred)
- 2+ years of research experience in quantum error correction or fault tolerance;
- Strong understanding of quantum information theory;
- Experience with quantum LDPC codes, decoders, and linear optical quantum computing
- Familiarity with quantum networks, graph states, and graphical calculus tools (like tensor networks or ZX calculus)
- Proficient in Python or C++
- Experience with version control and collaborative coding tools (e.g., GitHub)
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup environment
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and time zones
