Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Error Correction Control Systems Engineer. Location: Yorktown Heights, NY; San Jose, CA; Cambridge, MA, USA
Job Type: Entry Level, Regular, Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Design and validate control systems for fault-tolerant quantum computers in collaboration with theorists, experimentalists, hardware designers, and engineers.
- Define and develop tools for scalable emulation, tracing, and debugging of system operation.
- Rapidly prototype and evaluate novel approaches for control architecture;
- Build realistic models and benchmarks of control system components, their capabilities, and constraints.
- Conduct stress testing and resource estimation to drive improvements in architecture and individual component design.
- Collaborate across cross-disciplinary teams to integrate software and hardware solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in prototyping, resource estimation, or system design of real-time software.
- Strong software experience in at least one of Python, Rust, or C++;
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse, cross-disciplinary teams.
Preferred:
- Understanding of quantum information, quantum computing, and/or quantum error correction.
- Experience with experimental real-time RF or microwave control systems and debugging tools.
- Experience designing software and systems for rapidly evolving technology;
- Understanding of classical computer engineering, FPGA design, and HDL.

- Salary range: $157,410 – $219,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and location.
