Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Information and Error Correction Theorist. Location: Santa Barbara, California, United States
Responsibilities:
- Conduct cutting-edge research in quantum information science, quantum error correction, and fault-tolerant computing.
- Work collaboratively with hardware and software teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantump processor designs.
- Publish high-impact scientific results in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at major conferences;
- Contribute to IBM’s broader quantum computing roadmap through innovative theoretical insights.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A strong publication record demonstrating impactful research in quantum computing theory;
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quantum information science or a related domain.
Preferred:
- Over 15 years of experience in quantum error correction, fault tolerance, quantum algorithms, or information theory.
- Experience collaborating with experimental or software development teams;
- Some programming experience in Python or quantum computing frameworks is a plus.
