Quantum Processor Scientist

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Processor Scientist. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, USA

Job Type: Research Fellowship / Professional (Full-time, Onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, measure, and interpret results for new quantum processors and related components.
  • Contribute to the development of novel quantum processor architectures.
  • Work on electromagnetic and quantum physics-based device simulation and layout;
  • Assist in the control and operation of quantum devices using digital and hardware interfaces.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to advance superconducting quantum technologies.
  • Support experimental and theoretical analysis of quantum processor performance.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Physics or a related field required.
  • Experience in device layout and simulation using electromagnetic and quantum physics tools.
  • Experience working with software used to control quantum devices;
  • Experience using digital sources and digitized hardware for quantum device control.

Preferred:

  • PhD in Physics or related field.
  • Experience with superconducting devices using Josephson junctions.
  • Experience operating microwave quantum devices in cryogenic systems;
  • Familiarity with superconducting surfaces and proximitized superconductors.
  • Experience in microwave circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with dilution refrigerators.
  • Understanding of quantum error correction codes and hardware implementation requirements.

  • Salary range: $170,000 – $230,000 per year depending on experience and location.
