Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Research Scientist – Device Team. Location: Pasadena, California, USA

You will work in a multi-disciplinary environment with physicists, materials scientists, and engineers, contributing to the advancement of experimental quantum computation; This role focuses on improving qubit performance through advanced measurement and noise characterization techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute experiments to measure and analyze the effects of environmental and material noise on qubit dynamics.
• Automate data collection to ensure statistically significant results;
• Analyze experimental data, prepare clear summaries, and present findings to the team.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, materials scientists, and circuit designers to implement noise mitigation strategies.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in experimental quantum computation.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a quantitative field, or MS with at least 1 year of relevant research experience.
• Proven experience applying scientific principles to real-world problems.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (R, SAS, Matlab, etc.);
• Experience using SQL databases to manage and analyze large datasets.

Preferred:

• PhD in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or a related field.
• Experience with forecasting and data mining techniques.

• Base salary range: $113,000 – $195,200 (depending on location and experience).
