Senior Performance Researcher

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Performance Researcher. Location: Remote (United States) or Hybrid (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to improve control strategies for quantum annealing systems
• Develop and analyze new applications in areas such as optimization and quantum simulation
• Design experiments to characterize system-level performance under various computational conditions
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to align research with product goals;
• Translate theoretical models into practical, testable protocols;
• Monitor performance trends and recommend improvements for future system designs
• Document research findings in internal reports and scientific publications

Qualifications:

• PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience)
• Proficiency in Python, Git, and Linux environments
• Experience with Monte Carlo methods and statistical mechanics;
• Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly across interdisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated ability in independent research and experimental design;
• Experience analyzing experimental data and deriving performance metrics
