Job Description
Job Title: Senior Performance Researcher. Location: Remote (United States) or Hybrid (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to improve control strategies for quantum annealing systems
- Develop and analyze new applications in areas such as optimization and quantum simulation
- Design experiments to characterize system-level performance under various computational conditions
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to align research with product goals;
- Translate theoretical models into practical, testable protocols;
- Monitor performance trends and recommend improvements for future system designs
- Document research findings in internal reports and scientific publications
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience)
- Proficiency in Python, Git, and Linux environments
- Experience with Monte Carlo methods and statistical mechanics;
- Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly across interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability in independent research and experimental design;
- Experience analyzing experimental data and deriving performance metrics
