Technical Facilities Project Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Technical Facilities Project Manager, GREF – Workplace Design & Construction (WD&C). Location: Seattle, WA, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technically complex capital projects ranging from $5K to $10MM+, from initial planning through completion.
  • Manage construction, renovations, and facility modifications to support Amazon’s corporate expansion into aerospace, life sciences, robotics, quantum computing, devices, and government sectors.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including EH&S, IT, AV, Security, Sustainability, Procurement, Legal, Tax, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Oversee project documentation, ensuring accountability for quality, cost control, and timely delivery;
  • Direct architects, MEP consultants, structural and acoustic engineers, contractors, and facility managers to ensure Amazon’s priorities are met.
  • Support new facility due diligence, including site selection and feasibility studies;
  • Manage design elements such as infrastructure, specialty equipment, space planning, and finishes.
  • Handle construction processes such as contractor selection, contract negotiation, budget approval, change orders, and schedule oversight.
  • Recommend improvements to project intake, delivery, and reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in construction/engineering project management, real estate development, or architecture/design.
  • Strong background in commercial contracts and lease structures;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects (including R&D, manufacturing, SCIF, BSL, and ISO-certified facilities).
  • Expertise in vendor management, procurement, value engineering, budgeting, scheduling, and MEP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver clear project strategies and updates.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline or an additional 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Background in technical engineering, manufacturing, or government (DoD, IC, DoS) environments.
  • PMI certification.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices.

  • Competitive base pay ranging from $133,800 to $231,300 depending on location, skills, and experience.
