Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Technical Program Manager – Fab. Employer: AWS Center for Quantum Computing, Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning and tracking of internal chip fabrication efforts, including full chip production, R&D runs, maintenance schedules, and new tool deployment.
  • Develop and manage detailed, multi-project wafer production schedules across the fabrication pipeline;
  • Identify and resolve resource constraints, risks, and conflicts using structured data and cross-team collaboration.
  • Design mechanisms to optimize interactions with the fabrication facility, including design input, chip output, and device feedback loops.
  • Collect and analyze data to improve operational efficiency and inform strategic decisions;
  • Support the build-out and development of new fabrication facilities, onboarding tools, and sourcing critical materials.
  • Promote best practices in technical project management across the AWS Center for Quantum Computing.
  • Increase project visibility for stakeholders and senior leadership through regular updates and reporting mechanisms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical programs and working with engineering teams;
  • Deep understanding of project management tools, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk analysis
  • Proven ability to coordinate large, cross-functional engineering projects;
  • Prior experience in semiconductor fabrication environments

Preferred:

  • Master’s or PhD in materials science, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with superconducting qubits or microwave devices;
  • Strong skills in both agile and traditional project management methodologies;
  • Experience in R&D environments, especially within academia or experimental labs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Benefits and Instructions:

  • Competitive base salary between $133,900 and $231,400, depending on experience and location
  • Total compensation may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and benefits such as healthcare and retirement plans;
