Job Title: Atomic Source Developer / Physicist. Location: Broomfield, Colorado, USA. Job Type: Full-time (On-site)
We are hiring an Atomic Source Developer/Physicist to join our hardware development team; You will design and develop atomic sources for next-generation trapped ion quantum computers in collaboration with a world-class team of physicists and engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, simulate, build, and validate atomic sources used in trapped ion quantum systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish and meet system requirements;
- Apply scientific rigor to experimental methods and promote best practices across the lab.
- Communicate technical progress and findings through presentations and scientific publications.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics or Engineering (completed before start date).
- At least 5 years of experience in atomic physics, including PhD research;
- Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status).
- Cannot be a national of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen (due to security requirements).
Preferred:
- Proven experience in experimental atomic physics and cold atom techniques.
- Familiarity with magneto-optical traps (MOT), atomic beams, and ion cooling.
- Hands-on work with trapped ion systems and related hardware;
- Experience simulating atomic systems and building quantum experiments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a record of scientific publications.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $123,000 – $155,000 (non-incentive eligible)
