Commercial Legal Director, Sales

Job Description

Job Title: Commercial Legal Director, Sales. Location: Remote, US (Preferably Eastern U.S. time zone)

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and Negotiate Contracts: Lead the negotiation and drafting of cloud access agreements, integration agreements with cloud providers like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, and other relevant contracts;
  • Customize Contracts: Tailor contracts to fit the technical and business needs of IonQ, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate Productive Discussions: Act as a problem solver in negotiations, resolving conflicts to achieve favorable outcomes;
  • Ensure Contract Compliance: Monitor adherence to contract terms and take action in case of breaches. Assist with amendments and renewals when necessary.
  • Legal Research and Advice: Stay updated on legal changes that may affect contract terms and advise clients on necessary revisions or renegotiations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar of at least one state/district (preferably New York, California, Washington, Delaware, DC, or Maryland).
  • Experience: 6-10 years of relevant experience, with significant work in law firms and in-house positions. Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts for cloud services is a plus;
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and collaborate effectively with management.

Benefits/ Instructions:

  • Compensation: Base salary range of $162,920 - $213,304, dependent on experience and location. Additional compensation includes a variable bonus and equity component.

  • Travel Requirements: Some domestic and international travel (approx. once per quarter);
