Device Fabrication Manager, Quantum

Job Description

Job Title: Device Fabrication Manager – Quantum Computing

Responsibilities:

• Lead the fabrication team responsible for producing high-quality superconducting quantum processor chips.
• Ensure timely delivery of wafers and packaged chips that meet stringent quality standards.
• Manage and mentor a team of process engineers; oversee training and performance;
• Allocate resources across production and R&D tasks to balance short-term and long-term objectives.
• Collaborate closely with scientists, hardware engineers, and leadership to ensure alignment of technical priorities.
• Perform hands-on fabrication work and troubleshooting within the cleanroom environment;
• Integrate new process innovations to improve yield, repeatability, and scalability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in applied physics, material science, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in semiconductor fabrication;
• At least 2 years of experience managing teams in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.

Preferred:

• MS or PhD in a relevant technical field.
• Over 10 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor fabrication.
• 5+ years in technical leadership or management roles;
• Familiarity with superconducting microwave devices or superconducting qubits.
• Knowledge of quantum physics or quantum information technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary ranges from $135,900 to $234,900, depending on experience and geographic location.
• May include equity, signing bonus, and comprehensive benefits.
