Director of Operational Excellence (OpEx)

Job Description

Job Title: Director of Operational Excellence (OpEx). Location: Broomfield, Colorado, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

This is a player-coach role where the leader will manage a small, high-impact team while also driving strategic initiatives; The role requires strong financial understanding, deep process improvement expertise, and the ability to turn data into clear operational decisions that improve profitability and long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and execute the Operational Excellence strategy across the Integrated Supply Chain
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methods
  • Standardize processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and consistency

Data, Analytics, and Insights

  • Develop clear operational and supply chain dashboards for leadership
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify risks and opportunities
  • Own and improve supply and demand planning models

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with supply chain and functional leaders to support integrated planning
  • Establish governance structures, reporting, and operating rhythms
  • Influence stakeholders without direct authority

Customer and Service Excellence

  • Ensure readiness to meet customer service and delivery commitments
  • Manage escalation processes for service, quality, or supply disruptions
  • Track and document performance against service level agreements

Competitive and Strategic Insight

  • Lead industry and competitor benchmarking for supply chain operations
  • Provide forward-looking insights and strategic recommendations

Technology, Automation, and AI Enablement

  • Promote use of digital tools, automation, AI, and machine learning
  • Partner with technical teams to deploy scalable supply chain solutions

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Operational Excellence team
  • Set priorities and ensure alignment with business outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in operational excellence, supply chain, finance, or continuous improvement roles
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting or leading supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or planning functions
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. government requirements;
  • Must not be a People’s Republic of China or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen

Preferred:

  • Strong experience with data analytics and operational performance metrics
  • Proven ability to influence senior technical and business leaders;
  • Experience leading and developing teams, including early-career professionals
  • Strong communication skills across executives, partners, and customers
  • Ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on measurable impact

Compensation and Benefits:

$200,000 to $250,000 per year
Salary includes bonus target where applicable
Final compensation depends on skills, education, and experience
