Sr. AI & Emerging Tech Specialist

Job Description

Job Title: Sr. AI & Emerging Tech Specialist, Emerging Technology. Location: Jessup, Maryland, Arlington, Virginia, Herndon, Virginia, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand relationships with new AI and emerging technology customers within the U.S. Defense and Intelligence community.
  • Identify mission-driven use cases for generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning at the edge, quantum computing, and other emerging technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AI, foundation models, AWS AI services, and emerging technologies by providing technical guidance and sales enablement.
  • Work closely with government executives, mission owners, and technical teams to understand business requirements and technology roadmaps.
  • Design integrated cloud solutions using AWS data, analytics, AI, and emerging technology services;
  • Drive adoption of AI, DataOps, MLOps, AI governance, and cloud best practices in secure and classified environments.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities from discovery through negotiation and closing.
  • Collaborate with AWS account teams, engineering teams, professional services, technical program managers, and partners to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Represent customer feedback by working with product teams to prioritize feature requests, regional requirements, and mission-specific use cases.
  • Support marketing initiatives, public policy engagements, and industry events that strengthen AWS's leadership in AI and emerging technologies.
  • Build relationships through defense organizations and professional associations to identify new business opportunities and partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technology platform sales with knowledge of government IT, cloud services, data centers, and cloud adoption.
  • Experience working across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance or higher;
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage executive relationships and complex enterprise sales opportunities.

Preferred:

  • 7+ years of direct sales or business development experience in software, cloud, or SaaS markets.
  • Experience selling AI or machine learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of analytics, cybersecurity, storage, DevOps, application development, or machine learning technologies.
  • Experience interpreting business data and making strategic recommendations.
  • Experience developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements with enterprise customers.
  • Familiarity with national security, classified environments, and government technology programs.

  • Annual base salary of $147,900 to $200,100 USD, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

  • This position supports AWS Worldwide Public Sector's National Security Emerging Technology team.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
  • The selected candidate must currently hold an active Top Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph after hiring;
