Electrical Engineering Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technical Manager. Location: Broomfield, CO

Quantinuum is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineering Technical Manager, to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing advanced electronics for trapped-ion quantum computing systems; This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-tech; collaborative environment and can drive innovation while managing engineering execution at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians focused on FPGA, PCB, RF, and analog system design.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with high-level business goals, covering scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Ensure delivery of high-performance, cost-effective, and manufacturable hardware systems;
  • Manage daily execution, including progress tracking, resource allocation, milestone delivery, and risk management;
  • Foster collaboration across internal teams and external partners to streamline development cycles and reduce costs.
  • Identify staffing needs and support team growth through hiring, training, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience in advanced electronics development
  • At least 2 years of management experience (either as a team lead or direct manager)
  • Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, green card holder, or protected status);
  • Due to government regulations, cannot be a national of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen

Preferred:

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Deep expertise in areas like analog/digital electronics, RF systems, embedded systems, or FPGA design
  • Familiarity with quantum computing or AMO physics;
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Proven experience managing technical teams in high-tech environments

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual salary range: $180,000 – $225,000 (includes performance-based bonus eligibility)
