Job Description
Job Title: Engineering Program Management Lead. Location: Malta, NY, USA
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of detailed schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and work plans for technical deliverables across complex, multi-faceted hardware R&D programs.
- Organize and coordinate activities across multiple technical and operational teams.
- Lead regular status meetings, project reviews, and end-of-task retrospectives.
- Communicate strategy, scope changes, risks, and project progress between technical teams, partners, product and program management, and leadership.
- Use reports, dashboards, and presentations to provide clear program updates;
- Identify opportunities to accelerate schedules or develop technologies needed to meet program objectives.
- Manage program risks and opportunities as part of overall program planning.
- Support technology-based projects through their full life cycle, including schedule, risk, and budget management.
- Travel up to 25% as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- At least 8 years of experience in technical program management.
- Must meet contractual U.S. Person requirements. This includes U.S. citizens, permanent residents or green card holders, and workers granted asylum or refugee status.
- Due to U.S. Government national security requirements, candidates must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless they are also a U.S. citizen;
- Strong time management, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with highly technical and cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a STEM field.
- Background in quantum computing, optics and photonics, or experimental physics.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience in product development.
- Experience managing technology-based projects through their complete life cycle.
- Experience working on first-of-its-kind or early-stage technology products and projects.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and proactively address obstacles;
- Experience establishing effective organizational and time-management practices for others.
- Experience working in highly collaborative environments and promoting teamwork.
- Ability to adapt strategies and tactics to diverse, early-phase, highly technical projects.
- Thorough understanding of risk and opportunity analysis and management processes related to program planning.
