Job Description

Job Title: Senior Hardware Development Engineer – Cryogenic Hardware Manufacturing

Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC machines for both prototyping and medium-scale production.
  • Develop and set up fixtures, select tools, and execute machining operations.
  • Provide logistical support across the manufacturing workflow to ensure timely delivery;
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to forecast hardware needs and prepare for production runs.
  • Document manufacturing processes, participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews, and report on performance metrics.
  • Maintain and organize the manufacturing facility to support efficient throughput.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or equivalent experience in CNC machining.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on CNC machinery programming and operation.
  • Proficiency in CAM software for 3- and 5-axis machines.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills;
  • Experience working in collaborative engineering environments.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or higher in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • 8+ years of CNC experience, including with Haas machinery.
  • Manual machining skills and experience with copper materials;
  • Background working closely with multidisciplinary engineering and research teams.
  • Ability to learn new techniques quickly and adapt to evolving hardware requirements.
